AP Physics C: Mechanics is a one-semester, calculus-based, college-level physics course, especially appropriate for students planning to specialize or major in one of the physical sciences or engineering. Students completed or concurrently taking calculus are eligible to take this course. This course enables students to develop the ability to create and analyze the representations of physical scenarios, design experiments, analyze data, and to use mathematics to model and to solve problems. This course covers kinematics, Newton’s laws of motion, work, energy, power, systems of particles, linear momentum, circular motion and rotation, oscillations, and gravitation. Students will learn how interactions produce changes in motion and how forces characterize interactions between objects or systems.
