AP Physics 2 is a fullyear course and equivalent to a secondsemester introductory college course in algebrabased physics. Students completed AP Physics 1 are eligible to take this course. This course helps students develop a deep understanding of the foundational principles that shape classical mechanics and modern physics. Students will learn and cultivate their understanding of physics in these topics: fluids, thermodynamics, electrical force, electric field, magnetism, electromagnetic induction, optics, quantum, atomic, and nuclear physics. This course teaches students about the changes that occur as a result of interactions are constrained by conservation laws. Students will also learn about the mathematics of probability to describe the behavior of complex systems and interpret the behavior of quantum mechanical systems.
